The House Hunt

I haven't made a post about the house hunt in quite a while because frankly, I have not seen much that I found inspiring! We have looked at a lot of places DEEP in the ghetto... And a lot of places that are just completely trashed!
Last week Mom and I saw one place that we both liked quite a bit. Right off I liked it because it has a red door!

I was unsure because of the neighborhood. But the backyard is HUGE, the kitchen is pretty awesome (There's room for Bobby to put in an island for me, someday!) and the rest of the house has lots of potential!

So, after a little more research on the neighborhood (There's a bit of crime in the area, but that happens everywhere!) and a number of drivebys on the house and area (one at night, with Bobby) we've decided to put an offer on it!

So we'll see what happens!

Babysitting!

No matter what kind of day/week/month you are having... A little snuggle time with a small and adorable can really improve your attitude.

Last night I got to hang out with not 1, but 3 very cool boys. The two boys (7 and 9) are at that funny age where they are constantly pushing boundaries and testing people. They started to do this with me but it really didn't last very long. After their initial push (and my gentle push back) they settled right back into being the really cool kids I know them to be. It was all very amusing.

The boys played video games in their room until bed time. While they did this I ran around and chased my busy-body little 1 year old nephew, Lucas! When it was almost time for everybody's bedtime, I put Lucasin his mom's super cool baby wrap and bounced him around the house to his favorite song (Big Papa!). This lasted about 5 seconds until he was sawing logs on my chest! Sooooo cute!

With him still strapped to my chest I went in and read the two boys to sleep. It was a teency bit tiring - but still probably the best night I've had in months! Doing these "Mommy" things feels very RIGHT to me, and makes me really happy... And a little impatient for when I get to do it every night, with my own little small people!

Kheri and Chris think *I* was doing *them* a favor by babysitting the kids while they got to go out... Silly them! This was clearly all for me! :)
